Before the Date…

Reminents of the past become demolished or decommissioned in this city at an alarming rate making it ever so difficult to do that one thing we love so much: time travelling. Luckily for all of us Culver City locals have taken care of their relics for decades leaving it easy for you to step into the past to feel a piece of yesteryear. From the food to the bar games to music you hear on this night you’ll fly from the late 40s through to the 2000s.

So recruit your favorite time traveller and head out for a night spent in the past.

BITES

What to Know

This sandwich gem has been serving up pastrami’s since 1952. This means they only take cash. A theme throughout the entore evening.

Coors Banquet is on draught for $4.75, bargain of the town. With regards to the food, a half pastrami, an order of fries and a banquet will hold you over til well after midnight.

If you have 3+ people it’s highly suggested to sit outside by the fire pit. Inside gets pretty steamy when people start arriving around 8:45pm.

Alternative: If you are looking to go a bit more high brow hit up Maple Block Meat Co.. It’s a modern Texas BBQ place that’s absolutely hits the spot.

Cash Reminder #2: This bar is cash only. There is an ATM but better to come prepared.

This pour cocktails the real way: stiff. All you gotta do is ask. The crowds will start to cruise in around 10pm, try to get there in the 9 o’clock hour for ample bar game time.

The competition on the pool table seems to be pretty intense. Some guys have their own pool cues. Jump on the shuffleboard instead. Be ready to toss it very very lightly.

What to Know

The “tiniest honky tonk” in Los Angeles and possibly the best ratio of cool per square foot this place has never had a cover. And they’ve been cranking out good times, cheap booze, and live acts since 1947.

Bands start around 9pm, think about crowds cruising in around 10:30pm, try to get in early to score a spot at the bar.

Before you go take a look at their concert calendar ???? The have music every night of the week. Classic as it’s the only page on their website.
